  • DSCP is now enabled by default - this means customers with WMM QoS on their router should start seeing reduced latency (audio delay) and improved call quality

Improved stuff:

  • Added "Check for app upgrades" menu option in settings: this links to the 'Spoke Phone' page in the App store / Play store
  • Set maximum average bit rate for calls to 16kbps to reduce bandwidth overhead (i.e. improve call quality)

Fixed stuff:

  • Fixed speaker automatically turning on sometimes when making outbound calls on iOS
  • Fixed bluetooth button not highlighting on call screen when making outbound calls via bluetooth

Fixed stuff:

  • (IOS only) Fixed rare issue where making an outbound HD call sometimes may cause the speaker/mute/keypad functions to be disabled
  • When you view the call history between yourself and another Spoke member (i.e. Tap on a user, tap 'Show call history'), any phone numbers that match a record in your external contacts will show the contact name correctly
  • Incorrect caller ID on some outbound calls for some users who had selected their DDI as their default caller ID

  • Red text in call history means there is a missed call and you need to call them back
  • More button options for claiming the call - swipe left and tap the phone icon, tap twice on the call, or tap once for call details and tap the phone icon at the top
  • Refreshing personal directory is now manually done by pulling down to refresh, this improves speed on devices with 1000+ contacts

Spoke Phone's Ekatahuna release brings the first of many planned voice productivity features, a slew of speed and performance improvements, deeper native integration to phones, and core platform features - such as legally compliant call recording.

DEC 2018

New stuff:

  • When you make or receive a call in Spoke from one of your personal contacts in your phone, their name now appears on screen and in the call history

  • Availability and offline hour rules were showing incorrectly as UTC time instead of user's local time
  • When setting offline vacation dates, the 'cancel' and 'ok' buttons were not showing on some screen resolutions
  • When doing long press and hold to manually select caller ID, some phone numbers with long labels had text cut off
  • Ringer volume was not being restored on some Android phones after making/receiving Spoke calls
OCT 2018

New stuff: 

  • Conference calling. One-touch internal conference calling (no pin, no dial in)
  • Group welcome messages: Play a different welcome greeting when someone directly calls a call group via the group's DDI. Good for sub-brands and multiple companies
  • Group voicemail messages: Play a different voicemail greeting on each group

Improved stuff:

  • Bluetooth in cars now works with car controls to answer/reject calls
  • More information on incoming calls - now you can see extra information about who called and which number / DDI / team the caller dialled
  • On the in-call screen for outbound calls, Spoke now shows you which of your numbers is being used as caller ID

Spoke Phone's Dipton release brings major upgrades to call quality, full Bluetooth support for headsets, conference speakers, and in-car telephony, deeper support for multi-brand businesses, plus lots of other IVR/PBX features.

SEP 2018

  • If returning a call from Call History, dials out from the same number the caller dialled
  • New options for callers who go to voicemail: 'Press 1 to speak to someone else' sends callers back to the IVR/reception call group
  • During a call, in the Spoke call screen you can now see what number you called out from
  • Now you can clear the dial pad quickly by doing a long press on the back icon or pressing the dial pad icon 
  • Making a call from dial pad will also now clear the number automatically
  • When you finish your call if you want to redial the same number, tap the green phone icon and Spoke will repopulate the number in the dial pad

Fixed stuff:

  • No missed call notification was sent to your phone if you missed a direct call on Spoke from a team mate
  • If you choose to have no company greeting, by default when people call your number they will just hear ringing (instead of hold music) until someone picks up or it goes to voicemail
AUG 2018

  • Rollover to external number or another call group if no one available
  • 2nd level IVR menu now available
  • You can now manually select what number you want to use as your caller ID just before making an outbound call - just tap and hold the dial button (or call history entry) and select from your list of company numbers
  • Easily toggle to HD mode or Carrier mode just for one call - just tap and hold the dial button (or call history entry) and toggle the button between HD or carrier to select how you want to make the call
  • In carrier calling mode, just before you are offered an incoming call, Spoke now sends you a notification. The notification tells you who the call is from... and who the call is for (My direct line / Sales / Reception etc.)

  • If no IVR inputs recognised, caller is sent to reception group
  • Various speed and stability upgrades and improvements

  • Couldn't make calls in carrier mode if there was no number set as default caller ID
